Mise En Place
Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I will be talking about what mise en place is and how to properly set it up. Mise en place comes from the French phrase which literally means "put in place", but we'd say "set up". It refers to having your ingredients prepped and ready before you start cooking. Proper mise en place is achieved by....
*Chopping up all vegetables, fruits, etc.
*Ingredients are measured (spices, liquids, etc.)
*Pans, bowls, knives, etc. are all laid out and ready to go
Following these steps and getting everything ready BEFORE you start cooking will save you a lot of time during the cooking process!
